Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED
At an English lesson
I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following items:
1. Knowledge:
- To introduce the topic about: “Remembering the past ”
- Use the words related to the topic Remembering the past;
- To practice listening and reading skills .
+ Integrated skills: Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
* Vocabulary:
- Use the words related to the topic “Remembering the past”;
- Pronounce the sounds /m/ and /l/ correctly in words and sentences;
* Grammar:
- Use the past continuous tense and wish + past simple;
- Know how to thank and respond;
2. Competence:
- Students will be able to practice listening , speaking, reading and writing skills .
- Develop communication skills and cultural awareness.
- Be co-operative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.
Digital Competence (3.2.TC2a; 3.3.TC2a): Problem Solving & AI Application.
· Problem Solving (3.2.TC2a): Students use digital mind-mapping tools (Mindmeister) to logically organize historical information and brainstorm ideas for writing tasks.
· AI Application & Copyright (3.3.TC2a): Students design a multimedia video or slide presentation about local history. They simulate historical contexts using basic AI text/image generation tools, while strictly adhering to copyright education (learning how to properly cite AI-generated content versus authentic historical photos from the internet).
Digital evidence/assessment: a project plan, AI prompt log, labelled images, and a source list for authentic historical photos; teacher checks copyright labels, source accuracy and appropriate use of AI-generated simulations.
3. Personal qualities:
- Be friendlier and willing to help the local community;
- Actively participate in community services;
- Develop self-study skills.
Objectives For students with disabilities
By the end of the lesson, students can:
- recognize and say 3 words about the past: monument, castle and heritage, with teacher's help.
- listen to the conversation and point to 1-2 pictures of historical places correctly.
- answer 1 simple question about a place in the past using a word or a short phrase.
- choose 1 correct detail from the conversation with teacher's help.
- copy one simple sentence about a historical place, such as It is a castle.

T may ask some questions. - Then tell Ss that they are going to learn about the topic Remembering the past in this unit. – Ask Ss to open their books. T may ask these questions: Do you care about healthy living? What do you often do to keep fit? Ask Ss such questions as: What do your parents / grandparents do to keep fit/to keep themselves healthy? What do you know about your grandparents' lifestyle (their clothes / cooking / eating habits, etcj? + Then tell Ss that they are going to learn about the topic Remembering the past in this unit. Show Ss some photos related to historic events or lifestyles in the past (traditional costumes, folk dance, customs, etc.), and write Remembering the past on the board or tell a story related to the past / our history. + Ask Ss to open their books to page 40. Draw their attention to the THIS UNIT INCLUDES box and introduce what they are going to learn in this unit.
