A/ WARM-UP ACTIVITY (5 minutes)

- To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson.

- To lead into the new lesson.

b. Content:

- Chatting

c. Expected outcomes:

- Ss can talk about the differences between life in the past and life at present.

d. Organisation:

Teacher: "Hello everyone! Today we're going to start with a small interactive activity. I want you to think about the differences between life in the past and life in the present."

Teacher: "Please access Mentimeter via the link or QR code on the screen. You will enter one or two keywords describing the differences you think of." (Teacher provides the Mentimeter link/QR code with a "Word Cloud" question type). (NL1(1.1.TC1a) - Information extraction and feedback through digital tools).

Students: Access Mentimeter and enter keywords.

Teacher: (After students have entered) "Great! We can see a 'word cloud' with many interesting ideas. The word that appears most often shows the difference that many of you have noticed." (Teacher analyzes the "word cloud").

Teacher: "Does anyone want to share more about the differences they've thought of? Why did you choose that word?" (Teacher calls on a few students to share).

Students: Share their opinions.

Teacher: "Very good! Your ideas will be the bridge to today's lesson – reviewing reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills on this topic."

Teacher-Student Interaction:

"Do you find using Mentimeter easier to share your opinions?"

"What are your thoughts on how technology has changed our lives, thereby creating these differences?" (NLa(1.1.TCa) - Human-centered thinking when considering the impact of technology).

b. Content:

- Students can use reading techniques to identify the correct answers.

d. Organisation

Task 1: Read the passage and choose the correct answer A, B, C, or D. (9 mins)

Teacher: "We're moving on to the Reading section. Please open your textbook to page [page number] and look at Task 1."

Teacher: "To do Task 1, you will read the passage and then choose the correct answer A, B, C, or D for each question. You will complete this exercise on the hoclieu.vn that I have prepared."

Teacher: "Please skim through the passage first to grasp the main idea. Then, read the questions and find specific information in the passage to answer them." (NL1(1.1.TC1a) - Extracting information from digital texts).

Students: Complete the exercise individually on hoclieu.vn

Teacher: (After students have finished) "I have received your answers. Let's look at the results. Can anyone tell me what the passage is about?"

Teacher: "Now, let's correct the exercise together. For question 1, the answer is B. Can anyone explain why they chose B and point out where that information is located in the passage?" (The teacher calls on a student to explain and point out the location of the information in the passage).
