Lesson 4 : COMMUNICATION

I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following items:

1. Knowledge:

- To introduce Everyday English.

- Seeking help and responding.

- To know some places of interest.

* Vocabulary:

- Use the words related to the topic Local community;

- Pronounce the vowel sounds /æ/, /a:/, and /e/ correctly in words and sentences;

* Grammar:

- Use question words before to-infinitives and some phrasal verbs;

2. Competence:

- Develop communication skills and cultural awareness.

- Be cooperative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.

Digital Competence (1.1.TC2b; 3.1.TC2a): Digital Information Search & Place Card Creation. Students use Google Maps/Google Images or an approved website to find basic information about a favourite local place of interest and create a simple digital place card.

Digital evidence/assessment: a digital place card with place name, location/distance, one activity, one image/source note and one sentence seeking help; teacher checks accuracy, source note and suitable online behaviour.

3. Personal qualities:

- Be ready and confident in real life conversations;

- Actively join in class activities.

- Develop self-study skills.

Objectives For students with disabilities

By the end of the lesson, students can:

- repeat 2 expressions for seeking help and responding: Do you mind...? and Sure, with teacher's help.

- practise 1 short guided dialogue asking for help.

- recognize 2 places of interest from pictures.

- answer 1-2 simple questions about a favourite place.
