I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following items:
1. Knowledge:
- Review the vocabulary and grammar of Unit 7; Practice doing exercises.
- Apply what they have learnt (vocabulary and grammar) into practice through a project.
+ Students can use what they have learnt during the unit to help them answer the questions. Ss need to see how far they have progressed and which areas need further practice.
+ Integrated skills: Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
* Vocabulary:
- Use the words related to natural wonders of the world;
- Pronounce the sounds /sl / and /sn/ correctly in words and sentences;
* Grammar:
- Use the reported Yes/No questions;
+ Ask for permission and respond;
+ Talk about the Great Barrier Reef;
2. Competence:
- Develop communication skills and creativity
- Develop presentation skill
- Be co-operative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.
- 3.1.TC1a: Present a digital brochure clearly using visual aids.
Digital Competence (3.1.TC1a; 3.3.TC2a; 2.4.TC2a): Digital Product Presentation, Copyright & Peer Assessment. Students present their Canva digital brochure, explain image/source citations, and use a rubric to assess content, design, language, and digital ethics.
Digital evidence/assessment: Final Canva brochure file/link, source-list slide, oral presentation, and peer-assessment rubric.
Sample product: a completed digital brochure about a natural wonder with cited pictures and a short presentation script.
3. Personal qualities:
- Be encouraged to attend school activities.
- Develop self-study skills.
Objectives For students with disabilities
By the end of the lesson, students can:
- review 3 words from Unit 7 using picture or word cards: peak, paradise, landscape, coral or waterfall.
- choose the correct answer in 2 vocabulary or grammar questions with teacher's help.
- complete 1 reported Yes/No question using if or whether from a model.
- show 1 picture/slide in the project and say 1 simple sentence about the natural wonder.
- answer 1 simple question from the teacher or a classmate with short words.
II. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: Grade 9 textbook; Projector / TV, rubric template, the Google Drive link contains the student’s submited work.
- Students: Textbooks, workbooks.

1. WARM UP & INTRODUCTION ( 3’- 5’) |

* Objectives: - To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson; - To lead into the new lesson. * Content: To have some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the subject and new lesson. * Expected outcomes: Ss can list as many Unit 7 vocabulary as possible. + Greeting + Brainstorming - Teacher divides the board, and divides the class into teams. - Members of each team take turns and write as many vocabulary in Unit 7 as possible in 2 minutes. - The group having more correct answers is the winner. ** Write the unit title on the board. Ask Ss to open their books and start the lesson.
For students with disabilities Teacher: Uses picture/word cards to review Unit 7 vocabulary. Asks the student to choose 3 words only. Allows pointing instead of speaking. Students: Look at the word cards. Choose or say 3 words. Listen to classmates. |
