Lesson 4 : COMMUNICATION
I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following items:
1. Knowledge:
- To introduce Everyday English.
- To offer help and respond to an offer;
- Talk about means of transport that they use.
* Integrated skills: Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
* Vocabulary:
- Gain vocabulary to talk about life in the city
+ Offering help and responding;
* Grammar:
- To teach “double comparatives”.
- To Learn how to form and use double comparatives and some phrasal verbs;
2. Competence:
- Students will be able to practice listening , speaking, reading and writing skills .
- Be co-operative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.
- Access and consolidate information from a variety of sources.
Digital Competence (1.1.TC2b; 3.2.TC2a): Digital Navigation & Web Content Formatting.
- Students use Google Maps in English to find a public-transport route and use the data in an offer-help dialogue.
- Students draft short transport notes or paragraphs on Canva/Google Sites with clear spacing and readable layout.
Digital evidence/assessment: route screenshot, transport information, offer-help dialogue and peer comment; teacher checks route accuracy, safe location use and language appropriacy.
3. Personal qualities:
- Be friendlier and willing to help the local community;
- Actively participate in class activities.
- Develop self-study skills.
Objectives For students with disabilities
By the end of the lesson, students can:
- repeat 2 expressions for offering help: “I can help you.” and “Would you like me to ...?” with teacher's help.
- respond with 1 short phrase: “Thanks.” or “That's so kind of you.”
- recognize 2 means of transport: bus and tram / sky train.
- say or copy 1 sentence about the transport they use.

+ Greeting + Look and answer. - Show pictures of means of transport (bicycle, tram, sky train, car, bus). Ask Ss what means of transport they know, and what might be common means of transport in cities. - Tell Ss that in this lesson, they will read and talk about transport in the city. Introduce the objectives of the lesson (Ss will learn how to offer help and respond, and how to talk about their favourite means of transport.). Write the objectives in the left corner of the board. ** T may introduce some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the subject and new class… - T encourages Ss to talk in English as much as possible
For students with disabilities Teacher: - Shows pictures of bus, tram, bicycle, car and sky train. - Asks the student to point to 2 means of transport. - Lets the student answer with one word. Students: - Point to 2 transport pictures. - Repeat the words bus and tram / sky train after the teacher. - Say or copy one transport word. |
