Lesson 7: Looking back and Project

I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:

1. Knowledge

- Review the vocabulary and grammar of Unit 11;

- Apply what they have learnt (vocabulary and grammar) into practice through a project.

Pronunciation : Stress on all words in sentences

Vocabulary: Electronic devices

Grammar: suggest / advise / recommend + V-ing / a clause with should

2. Competences

- Develop communication skills and creativity;

- Develop presentation skill;

- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.

Digital Competences (DC):

2.1.TC2a: Interact through digital technologies (Participating in digital voting/polling).

3.1.TC2a: Create and modify digital content (Digitizing analog project work for screen sharing).

4.1.TC2a: Protect devices (Safe hardware interaction during interactive games).

5.1.TC2a: Solve technical problems logically (Navigating digital review tools).

3. Personal qualities

- Be encouraged to wisely use electronic devices;

- Actively join in class activities.

II. MATERIALS

- Grade 9 textbook, Unit 11, Looking back and Project; Computer connected to the Internet; Projector / TV; hoclieu.vn.

III. PROCEDURES

CONTENTS

1. ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP (3 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson.

b. Content:

- Brainstorming

c. Expected outcomes:

- Ss can list as many community services as possible.

d. Organisation

Brainstorming

Digital Tool: Teacher's PC (Word document projected on screen).

2.1.TC2a (Interacting via shared digital workspace).

Task delivering: Divide the class into 2 teams.

Explain the rules: Members of each team take turns to write as many electronic devices on the board (screen) as possible in 2 minutes.

Scaffolding Questions:

Weak: "Think of things in your house that need electricity to work."

Average: "What devices did we read about in the previous lessons? (e.g., e-reader, camcorder)."

Strong: "Can you list specific types of computers or smart devices?"

Task performance: Students work in 2 teams and listen to the teacher's instructions to play the game.

Teacher Intervention & DC Integration: Students come to the teacher's laptop to type. T reminds them to handle the keyboard gently during the rush of the game (DC: 4.1.TC2a).

Report & discussion: T and the class review the typed lists on the projector, checking for spelling.

Judgement: The group having more correct answers is the winner. T transitions to the vocabulary review.

2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (10 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To help Ss review the vocabulary of Unit 11.

b. Content:

- Task 1: Write the name of an electronic device under each picture.

- Task 2: Complete the sentences with the words from the box.

c. Expected outcomes:

- Students can use the knowledge they have learnt in this unit to complete the tasks successfully.
