Lesson 4 : COMMUNICATION

I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following items:

1. Knowledge:

- To introduce Everyday English.

- Thanking and responding

+ Integrated skills: Listening, speaking, reading, writing.

* Vocabulary:

- Use the words related to the topic “Remembering the past”;

- Pronounce the sounds /m/ and /l/ correctly in words and sentences;

* Grammar:

- Use the past continuous tense and wish + past simple;

- Know how to thank and respond;

2. Competence:

+ Know how to thank and respond.

- Talk how to keep traditions alive

- Develop communication skills and cultural awareness.

- Be co-operative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.

Digital Competence (2.1.TC1a; 3.1.TC2a): Digital Communication & Tradition Card Creation. Students use Padlet/Google Slides/Canva to create a short digital card about one family tradition and practise polite online comments when responding to classmates’ products.

Digital evidence/assessment: one digital tradition card with tradition name, one activity, one image/source note and one thanking sentence; teacher checks content relevance, polite comment and source note.

3. Personal qualities:

+ Be ready and confident in real life conversation

- Actively participate in class and school activities

- Develop self-study skills.

Objectives For students with disabilities

By the end of the lesson, students can:

- repeat 1 expression for thanking and 1 response, such as Thank you very much and You’re welcome.

- choose 1 suitable response to thanks with teacher's help.

- recognize 1-2 words about traditions, such as Tet, festival or ancestor.

- answer 1 simple question about a family tradition using a short phrase.

- say or copy one sentence about keeping a tradition alive.
