CONTENTS

1. ACTIVITY 1. WARM-UP (5 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To activate students’ knowledge on the topic of the unit;

- To enhance students’ skills of cooperating with teammates.

b. Content: - Pass the chalk

c. Expected outcomes:

- Students can list as many words related to the topic as possible.

d. Organisation

· Digital Tool: Hoclieu.vn (Unit image projection) or a simple AI-generated image collage of modern vs. old devices on PowerPoint.

1.1.TC2a (Visualizing digital data).

Task delivering: Divide the class into 2 teams.

Project a vibrant digital collage of various electronic devices on the screen.

Explain the rules: Instead of writing on the board, one representative from each team will come up to the teacher's laptop and type the name of the device into a blank Word/Notepad document projected on the screen, passing the mouse/keyboard to the next teammate.

Scaffolding Questions (during delivery):

Weak: "Look at the screen. What is this item in Vietnamese? Can you guess the English word?"

Average: "Can you name a device we use to listen to music?"

Strong: "Which of these devic es do you think is the most modern?"

Task performance: Students take turns coming to the teacher's computer to type.

Teacher Intervention & DC Integration: Teacher guides students on how to gently handle the keyboard and switch input languages if necessary, explicitly reminding them not to close the active window to protect the lesson data (DC: 4.1.TC2a).

Report & discussion: The class looks at the typed lists on the projector.

Teacher asks the class to check spelling and read the words aloud together.

Judgement: Teacher counts the correct words, declares the winning team, and leads into the lesson topic: "Today, we will explore an electronic shop to see what devices are popular."

Suggested answers:

tablet, smartwatch, smartphone, portable music player, robotic vacuum cleaner, etc.

2. ACTIVITY 2 : PRESENTATION (5 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To provide students with vocabulary;

- To help students be well-prepared for the listening and reading tasks.

b. Content: Vocabulary pre-teaching

c. Expected outcomes:

- Students can identify some new words about electronic devices.

d. Organisation

Vocabulary pre-teaching

Digital Tool: Hoclieu.vn (Interactive Vocabulary Flashcards) or PowerPoint with animations.

2.1.TC2a (Interacting with digital content).

Task delivering: Project the new vocabulary words using Hoclieu.vn.

Introduce the words: portable (adj), aluminium (n), virtual (adj), wireless (adj), touchscreen (n).

Scaffolding Questions (during delivery):

Weak: "Look at this picture of a laptop. Is it heavy or easy to carry?" (Teaching 'portable').

Average: "If a keyboard has no wires, what do we call it?" (Teaching 'wireless').

Strong: "Can you explain the difference between a virtual keyboard and a real one?" (Teaching 'virtual').

Task performance: Teacher clicks on the audio icon on Hoclieu.vn for native pronunciation.

Students listen, repeat chorally and individually.

Students copy the words into their notebooks.

Report & discussion: Teacher calls random students to pronounce the words and match them verbally to the images on the screen.

Judgement: Teacher corrects pronunciation, highlighting the stress on all words, and confirms the meanings.
