CONTENTS

1. ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP (5 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson;

- To review the structure and lead into the new lesson.

b. Content: Sentence making

c. Expected outcomes: Students can make sentences to give suggestions.

d. Organisation

Digital Tool: Teacher's PC (Wheelofnames.com or a simple animated PowerPoint slide) projected on the screen.

2.1.TC2a (Interacting via shared digital workspace).

Task delivering: Introduce the objectives of the lesson: learning how to check understanding and learning about electronic devices in modern classrooms.

Project a digital spinning wheel containing 4-5 everyday problems (e.g., "I'm tired", "My phone is slow").

Ask some Ss to make sentences with suggest / advise / recommend + V-ing or a clause with should based on where the wheel stops.

· Scaffolding Questions:

Weak: "If the wheel lands on 'tired', what is a good idea? Going to sleep?"

Average: "Can you use the word 'advise' to tell me what to do with a broken laptop?"

Strong: "How would you recommend solving 'too much homework' using V-ing?"

Task performance: Teacher spins the digital wheel. Students make sentences with the structures.

Teacher Intervention & DC Integration: Invite one student to click the mouse to spin the wheel, reminding them to single-click gently rather than double-clicking aggressively (DC: 4.1.TC2a).

Report & discussion: The class listens to the peer's advice. T asks the class if the grammar is correct.

Judgement: T praises correct sentences, gently corrects errors, and transitions to the new communication topic.

2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To help Ss practise the structures of checking, understanding and responding.

b. Content:

- Task 1: Listen and read the conversations. Pay attention to the highlighted sentences.

- Task 2: Work in pairs. Make similar conversations for the following situations.

c. Expected outcomes:

- Students can use the structures of checking, understanding and responding.
