I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, students are expected to achieve the following objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- Vocabulary: Understand and put words/ phrases related to the environmental problems to good use : consequence, rising sea levels, polar ice melting, extreme weather events, flood ,heatwave, put s.t/s.b in danger, climate change, respiratory diseases…

- Pronunciation: Pronounce the following words, words clusters correctly

- Grammar: - Revise the reported speech

2. Competencies:

a. General competencies:

- Improve competencies: teamwork, critical thinking, interpersonal skill, problem-solving skill, self-study skill, creativeness and adaptability.

b. Specific competencies:

- Practise reading for the main idea and specific information in a text about Environmental problems

3. Qualities:

- Understand more about benefits of protecting the environment and raise Ss’ awareness of taking part in environmental activities;

4. Digital Competences (Năng lực số):

· 1.1NC1a: Identify information needs; find data, information, and content in a digital environment (through observing digital images/slides).

· 1.2NC1b: Analyze, compare, and evaluate the reliability and validity of data sources, information, and digital content (when connecting reading content with real-world environmental news).

· 5.3NC1a: Use digital tools and technologies to create knowledge, innovate processes, and products (using online dictionaries/sachmem.vn).
