I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, students are expected to achieve the following objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- Vocabulary: Understand and put words/ phrases related to the environmental problems to good use : backup, territory, device

- Pronunciation: Pronounce the following words, words clusters correctly

- Grammar: - Revise the reported speech

2. Competencies:

a. General competencies:

- Improve competencies: teamwork, critical thinking, interpersonal skill, problem-solving skill, self-study skill, creativeness and adaptability.

b. Specific competencies:

- Know how to make and respond to apologies;

- Know what Earth Hour is and what people do in that hour.

3. Qualities:

- Be ready to make and respond to apologies;

- Understand more about Earth Hour and actively take part in this lights-out event in Vietnam

4. Digital Competences (Năng lực số):

· 1.1NC1a: Identify information needs; find data, information, and content in a digital environment (through watching online videos about apologies and Earth Hour).

· 1.2NC1b: Analyze, compare, and evaluate the reliability and validity of data sources, information, and digital content (when cross-checking facts about Earth Hour between the text and the video).

· 5.3NC1a: Use digital tools and technologies to create knowledge, innovate processes, and products (using sachmem.vn or online resources to support learning).
