Lesson 2: Skills

I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

- Review the language they have studied from Unit 10 to 12

1. Knowledge:

+ Vocabulary: technology(n); face to face (adj); epidemics (n); contact lens (n); breakout room (n); invention (n).

+ Language: - reading for general and specific information;

- talking about study apps and devices;

- listening for specific information about the solar system;

- writing a paragraph about means of communication;

+ Pronunciation: Review.

2. Competence:

a) General competencies:

- Develop communication skills and creativity.

- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.

- Actively join in class activities.

b) Specific competencies:

- Group work and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence.

c) Digital Competence:

1.2.TC2a: Interact with and navigate basic digital learning platforms (Hoclieu.vn via the teacher's screen).

2.1.TC2a: Communicate and share information using digital mediums (using interactive displays for peer-assisted learning).

3.1.TC2a: Process, evaluate, and extract information presented digitally (audio/visual digital inputs).

5.3.TC2a: Utilize basic AI tools and digital feedback loops to reinforce learning and self-correction.

3. Qualities: - Have a positive attitude toward shopping places and dream shopping place. Ss have the good attitude to working in groups, individual work, pair work, cooperative learning.

II. PREPARATIONS

III. PROCEDURE

1. WARM-UP (5’-IW)

a. Objectives:

- To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson

- To lead into the new unit.

b. Content:

- Games Race at the board

c. Product:

- To remind students the knowledge that they have learnt in Units 10-11-12

d. Implementation: Teacher’s instruction

TEACHER’S AND STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES

CONTENTS

Race at the board

Task delivering: 3.1.TC2a: The teacher uses the laptop and projector to display a digitally created "Mystery Board" on screen. The board hides four AI-generated images (created previously using Canva or Gemini) representing: 1) A futuristic study app, 2) The solar system, 3) A futuristic communication device, 4) A digital reading tablet.

The teacher explains the game: Students must answer a quick riddle to reveal one of the hidden AI images.

Scaffolding Questions (to prompt thinking before revealing):

Weak: "Listen to my clue: It is a big yellow star and many planets. What is it?"

Average: "What do we call a program you download on your smartphone to help you learn English?"

Good/Excellent: "Can you define the term 'means of communication' by giving three modern examples?"

Task performance Students listen to the teacher's riddles. They raise their hands to guess the answers.

When a student answers correctly, the teacher clicks to reveal the corresponding AI image on the projector.

1.2.TC2a: A student is invited to the laptop to drag and drop the correct vocabulary word (e.g., Solar System, App, Device) under the revealed image.

Report & discussion The class chorally repeats the vocabulary words associated with the images to prime their pronunciation for the main lesson.

Judgement The teacher assesses the students' vocabulary retention and reaction speed based on their spoken answers. Constructive feedback is given on their pronunciation during the choral repetition, specifically noting their stress on multi-syllable words, adjusting the lesson's pace accordingly.
