I. OBJECTIVES: * By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

- Gain an overview about the topic Natural disasters.

- Gain vocabulary to talk about Natural disasters.

1. Knowledge:

+ Vocabulary: Destroy (v); Erupt (v); Predict (v); Emergency kit; Property (n); Rescue worker; Victim (n).

+ Language: Past continuous: S + were/ was + Ving

+ Pronunciation: Stress in words ending in - al and -OUS

2. Competence:

a) General competencies:

- Develop communication skills and creativity.

- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork.

- Actively join in class activities.

b) Specific competencies:

- Group work and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence.

c) Digital competences integrated:

NLS1 (3.1.TC2a): Creating and applying simple digital learning products (word forms, matching, gap-fill).

NLS1 (4.1.TC2a): Using digital devices safely and responsibly.

CDS: Knowing when to ask teachers/adults for technical support.
