V. Read the following passage. For each question, complete the notes with NO MORE THAN ONE WORD.

Dear Mayor,

My name is Henry Little. I am the town's energy expert. I have completed my research on new renewable energy sources and have found a few that I would suggest. Solar panels work great during the day and are very cheap to build. Wind turbines are clean to run and will work great during the windy seasons like fall and spring. Finally, nuclear power is clean and can run all day. Renewable energy has many advantages over non-renewable sources like coal. However, the town should keep a natural gas power plant just in case it's cloudy or the wind stops. A good mix of both energy sources can help keep the lights on and reduce pollution, so I suggest the town increase the total use of renewable energy to 70%, close the coal power plant, and keep the natural gas plant.

Henry, the town’s ____(21)____ , completed his research on renewables. He suggested that the town use ____(22)____ because they work great during the day and wind turbines because they are ____(23)____ to run. Henry also suggested ____(24)____ because it can run all day, and the town should increase the total use of ____(25)____ energy to 70%.

Nội dung bài nghe

Well, the benefits of this source of energy are obvious. First, solar energy is free and inexhaustible… at least until the sun runs out in billions of years. Second, solar power does not cause pollution. It is a really clean source of energy. Third, solar energy can be used to create electricity in remote areas. It is very expensive to get electricity lines there.

However, the problem is that solar power can only be produced during the daytime and when it is sunny. So in countries like the UK, solar energy can be an unreliable source. Moreover, the cost of installation is not low at all.

A website review

One of my favourite websites is lyricstraining.com. It’s great because you can learn English while you listen to your favourite songs. You choose a song and then listen to the song and complete the lyrics. You can also watch the video of the song.

The good points include the fact that there are lots of up-to-date groups you can listen to such as The Script or One Direction. In addition, you can choose the level: beginner, intermediate or expert, depending on your level of English. Another good feature is that you can repeat a line of the song as often as you want, until you know the missing word. Also, the website is very easy to search and you can listen to songs in different languages, for instance in Spanish, German and Italian.

Daniel Raven-Ellison is a city explorer. He says, "When I travel, I always keep my eyes peeled for unusual ... art. This type of unusual art is often out on the street, not inside buildings. When Raven-Ellison finds the art, he looks at the surroundings and thinks about why the artist chose that place.

Raven-Ellison also looks at the art itself. He wants to understand what the artist is trying to tell other people. He believes that sometimes the message is playful and amusing, and other times it's beautiful and amazing. Sometimes, the artist may have no message at all.

The art that Raven-Ellison likes the most shows the artist's opinions. He likes it when people can "hear" the message above the noise of the city.
