LOOKING BACK & PROJECTS

I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge

Students will be able to

-Review the vocabulary and grammar of Unit 4.

-Apply what students have learnt (vocabulary and grammar) into practice through a project.

1.1.Vocabulary: Vocabulary related to the topic “Music and arts”

1.2. Grammar: Revise the comparisons

2. Competences

- Develop communication skills and creativity

- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork

- Actively join in class activities

*1.1TC1a: Use the software Canva to find out information, pictures…for making/designing the part “project”

*3.1TC1a: Ss know how to use this software effectively

*1.1TC1c: Design a music or art show ticket to advertise by Canva website to everyone.

II. TEACHING AIDS

1. Students: Students’ books, notebooks, pens

III. TEACHING PROCEDURES

1.Warm up : Greeting.

* Brainstorming ( Part 1-page 48)

- Review the vocabulary and phrases words with the topic Music and Arts and go with four main following verbs

-Teacher divides the board, and divides the class into 4 teams.

-Members of each team take turns and write as many music /arts phrase words as possible in 2 minutes.

-The group having more correct answers is the winner.

2. New lesson

a. Activity 1: Fill in each gap with a word or phrase from the box to complete the passage. ( Part 2 page 48)

*Objective: Have students review the words / phrases about music and arts used in the context of a passage:the Louvre Museum -the world’s largest art museum.

* Content: Ss fill in the gap with a word or phrase from the box to complete the passage

* Output: Ss can apply the words or phrases to make sentences.
* Process:

- T has Ss work individually to revise the words / phrases given in the box, then do the task.

- Ss do this activity individually, and then compare their answers with their partners.

- T asks for students’ answers.

- T confirms the correct ones

b. Activity 2: Complete the sentences, using the words in brackets, add the necessary words. ( Part 3 page 48)

*Objective : Have students revise the comparisons they have learnt in the context of sentences..

*Content: Complete the sentences using the words in brackets, add the necessary words.

* Output: Students can use the comparative form in the context of sentences.
* Process:

- T asks students to revise how to use the different ways of comparing they have learnt and then complete the task. Tell them to add the necessary words.

- Ss do the exercise individually and swap with their partners.

- T calls some students to check their answer.

- T confirms the correct answer.
