Bài tập trật tự tính từ tiếng Anh là tài liệu cực hay dành cho các bạn học sinh tham khảo. Các dạng bài tập về trật tự tính từ gồm 26 trang trình bày dưới dạng file word rất dễ chỉnh sửa.

I. Định nghĩa Tính từ

Tính từ là từ chỉ tính chất, đặc điểm của người hoặc vật hay sự việc,.. thường được dùng để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ hoặc đại từ.

Ví dụ:

- It is a good computer. (Đó là một cái máy vi tính tốt.)

- She has black eyes. (Cô ấy có đôi mắt màu đen)

II. Phân loại tính từ

Có nhiều cách phân loại tính từ, dựa vào mục đích sử dụng ta có thể chia tính từ làm hai loại:

1. Tính từ miêu tả ý kiến, quan điểm chủ quan(opinion)

Ví dụ:

- She is very kind. (Cô ấy rất tốt bụng)

- She is an unrealiable person. (Cô ấy là một người không đáng tin tưởng.)

-> Đây là ý kiến, quan điểm của người nói về đối tượng được nói đến. Đây chỉ là ý kiến chủ quan, mỗi người khác nhau sẽ có những nhận xét khác nhau về cùng một đối tượng.

2. Tính từ miêu tả những đặc điểm thực tế (factual)

* Size (Kích cỡ): big, small, long, short,…

Ví dụ:

- She has a long dress. (Cô ấy có một chiếc váy dài.)

* Age (tuổi thọ): old, new, young, …

- His father looks very young. (Bố của cậu ấy trông rất trẻ.)

* Shape (hình dạng): round, oval, square,…

- She has a round face. (Cô ấy có một khuôn mặt tròn.)

* Color (Màu sắc): yellow, black, white,…

- It is a black wallet. (Đó là một chiếc ví màu đen.)

* Origin (Nguồn gốc): Japanese, French,…

- It is a Japanese bag. (Đó là một cái túi được sản xuất ở Nhật.)

* Material (chất liệu): wooden, woollen, plastic…

- It is a wooden house. (Đó là một ngôi nhà làm bằng gỗ.)

* Purpose (mục đích): walking (shoes), sleeping (bag),…

Ví dụ:

- I have just bought a pair of walking shoes. (Tôi vừa mua một đôi giày đi bộ mới.)

3. Tính từ phân loại theo vị trí:

a. Tính từ đứng trước danh từ

• a good pupil (một học sinh giỏi)
• a strong man (một cậu bé khỏe mạnh)

Hầu hết tính từ trong tiếng Anh khi được dùng để tính chất cho danh từ đều đứng trước danh từ, ngược lại trong tiếng Việt tính từ đứng sau danh từ mà nó phẩm định. Thông thường, những tính từ đứng trước danh từ cũng có thể đứng một mình, không có danh từ theo sau như nice, good, bad, long, short, hot, happy, beautiful... Tuy nhiên, một số ít tính từ lại chỉ đứng một mình trước danh từ như: former, latter, main…

b. Tính từ đứng một mình, không cần bất kì danh từ nào đứng sau nó:

Ví dụ: The boy is afraid.

The woman is asleep.

The girl is well.

She soldier looks ill.

Các tính từ như trên luôn luôn đứng một mình, do đó chúng ta không thể nói:

Ví dụ: an afraid boy

an asleep woman

a well woman

III. Vị trí các loại tính từ

Dưới đây là bảng trật tự tính từ cụ thể để các bạn tiện theo dõi.

Nhìn vào bảng trên, các bạn đã biết cách sắp xếp các tính từ đứng trước danh từ trong câu chưa? Một vài ví dụ để các bạn dễ nhớ hơn nhé!

e.g.: A lovely small cupcake (một chiếc bánh nhỏ dễ thương), an old Korean cook (một đầu bếp già người Hàn), a red wooden tea cup (một cái chén uống trà bằng gỗ màu đỏ)

IV. Nối giữa các tính từ

Vì chúng ta có cả một…rổ tính từ, khi đã biết sắp xếp vị trí cho chúng, có điều gì chúng ta cần lưu ý thêm khi nối giữa các tính từ đứng cạnh nhau không? Thật ra, bạn có thể dùng hoặc không dùng dấu phẩy (,) giữa các tính từ. Điều này không quá ảnh hưởng đến việc đọc-hiểu của người đọc. Tuy nhiên, nếu bạn soạn thảo một văn bản mang tính chất trang trọng hay chính thức, tốt nhất hãy dùng dấu phẩy (,) hoặc liên từ “and” (và) hợp lý để câu văn mềm mại và rõ ràng hơn.

e.g.:

– It’s a short, narrow, metal brush.

– The woman is a beautiful, tall, skinny, young, Latin doctor.

– I remember he wore a green and white cotton tee yesterday.
