Thì tương lai gần (Near future tense) là một thì rất quan trọng, thường xuyên sử dụng trong giao tiếp hàng ngày và xuất hiện nhiều trong các bài kiểm tra, bài thi tiếng Anh. I. Thì tương lai gần là gì?

a. Khái niệm

Thì tương lai gần (Near future tense) dùng để diễn tả một kế hoạch, dự định cụ thể có tính toán trong tương lai không xa. Tuy nhiên, các hành động trong thì tương lai gần đều có kế hoạch, có mục đích, có dự định cụ thể.

II. Cách sử dụng thì tương lai gần

- Dùng để diễn tả một dự định, kế hoạch trong tương lai.

Ví dụ:

- He is going to get married this year. (Anh ta dự định sẽ kết hôn trong năm nay.)

- We are going to take a trip to HCM city this weekend. (Chúng tôi dự định sẽ làm một chuyến tới thành phố HCM vào cuối tuần này.)

- Dùng để diễn đạt một dự đoán có căn cứ, có dẫn chứng cụ thể.

Ví dụ:

- Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain. (Hãy nhìn những đám mây kia kìa! Trời sắp mưa đấy.)

- Are you going to cook dinner? I have seen a lot of vVí dụetables on the table. (Bạn chuẩn bị nấu bữa tối à? Tớ vừa trông thấy rất nhiều rau củ quả ở trên bàn.)

- The sky is very black. It is going to rain.

- I crashed the company car. My boss isn’t going to bevery happy!

Một số cách sử dụng “going to”:

- Chúng ta dùng "Going to" khi chúng ta nói về kế hoạch hay dự định trong tương lai.

Ví dụ:

- I have won $1,000. I am going to buy a new TV.

- When are you going to go on holiday?

- Chú ý rằng kế hoạch hay dự định này không nhất định phải là tương lai gần.

Ví dụ:

– When I retire I'm going to go back to Barbados to live.

Khi tôi về hưu tôi sẽ quay lại sống ở Barbados.

– In ten years time, I'm going to be boss of my own successful company.

Trong vòng 10 năm, tôi sẽ trở thành ông chủ của công ty rất thành công của riêng tôi.

- Chúng ta dùng "Going to" khi chúng ta muốn dự báo dựa vào các dấu hiệu chúng ta có thể thấy ở hiện tại.

Ví dụ:

– Look out! That cup is going to fall off.

Nhìn kìa, cái cúp kia sắp rơi xuống rồi.

– Look at those black clouds. It's going to rain soon.

Nhìn những đám mây đen đó kìa. Trời sắp mưa rồi.

– These figures are really bad. We're going to make a loss.

Những số liệu này thật tệ. Chúng ta sẽ thua lỗ mất thôi.

– You look very tired. You're going to need to stop soon.

Anh trông thật mệt mỏi. Anh cần phải dừng lại thôi.

Chúng ta có thể thay thế "Going to go" bằng "Going".

Ví dụ:

– I am going out later.

Tôi sẽ ra ngoài sau.

– She is going to the exhibition tomorrow.

Ngày mai cô ấy sẽ đến buổi triển lãm.

III. Công thức thì tương lai gần

(+) Khẳng định

S + am/is/are + going to + V_inf

S = I -> am

Ex: I am going to join the club.

S = You/We/They -> are

Ex: We are going to join the club.

S = He/She/It -> is

Ex: He is going to join the club.

(-) Phủ định

S + am/is/are + not + going to + V_inf

Trong đó:

Am not = am not, is not = isn't, are not= aren't

Ex: She is not going to go swimming this weekend. (Cuối tuần này cô ấy sẽ không đi bơi)

(?) Nghi vấn

Am/is/are + S + going to + V_inf?

Ex: Are you going to go to the party tonight? (Bạn sẽ tham gia bữa tiệc tối nay chứ?)

→ Yes, I am / No, I am not

IV. Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì tương lai gần

Để xác định được thì tương lai gần, cần dựa vào ngữ cảnh và các bằng chứng ở hiện tại

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì tương lai gần bao gồm các trạng từ chỉ thời gian trong tương lai giống như dấu hiệu nhận biết thì tương lai đơn, nhưng nó có thêm những căn cứ hay những dẫn chứng cụ thể.

- in + thời gian: trong … nữa (in 2 minutes: trong 2 phút nữa)

- tomorrow: ngày mai

- Next day: ngày hôm tới

- Next week/ next month/ next year: Tuần tới/ tháng tới/ năm tới

Ví dụ:

- Tomorrow I am going to visit my parents in New York. I have just bought the ticket. (Ngày mai tôi sẽ đi thăm bố mẹ tôi ở New York. Tôi vừa mới mua vé rồi.)

Ta thấy “Ngày mai” là thời gian trong tương lai. “Tôi vừa mới mua vé” là dẫn chứng cụ thể cho việc sẽ “đi thăm bố mẹ ở New York”.
